This hitch was for my 2000 Nissan Maxima. I installed it myself which was quite the chore and I have plenty of experience doing head gaskets and other large jobs on cars. You do have to drill holes in the car to install this hitch, it does not simply "bolt on." The most annoying part was trying to fish the installation bolts through the bumper which only has access from the sides. You can make (or buy) a guide wire that wraps around the bolt and fish the bolt through the holes. This part probably took me at least a couple hours and lots of choice words were used.

I finally figured out that the bolts they provided were too long and would never "fish" into the bumper properly. I cut off some of the threads and then installation proceeded OK.

I would recommend watching videos on YouTube to get yourself familiar with how this is supposed to be installed. It is not easy. The hitch itself seems well built and I have used it to two some small boats and utility trailers. When the hitch is off, it doesn't detract from the looks of the vehicle. Works well.
