I got my Go-Kot in 1984. It is the best camping gear investment I've ever made. It was only $65 or $70 back then, but that's inflation. Anyway, it's worth it for a good night's sleep so I can enjoy the next day when out in the wilderness.
It's too heavy for backpacking, but for car camping or kayaking, it's unbeatable. It's easy to set up and comfortable. Even more so if you put a pad on top.
My brother had one of the Tex-Sport cots that has a similar shape (Green canvas, no folding joints), but it is so difficult to assemble, it is almost not worth it.

My Go-Kot has given me a good night's sleep for weeks at a time camping all over the world. Now my kids use it when they have friends stay over. I just ordered two more so they can have their own.
