ACDelco 10350647 Control Module Assembly Review
As always, Amazon had the best price for this item. The next lowest price was not even close to the price here.I always try and stick with AC Delco replacement parts, when changing out anything on my GM car. This part works flawlessly, and was a cinch to change out,if you have a manual.
Here is a quick run down of some of the issues I was having with my car, before I changed out the BCM:
1.) Flashing dummy lights: "Battery" - "Security" - "Service Vehicle Soon"
2.) Radio would read "Locked" on the readout and would not function
3.) HVAC controls were not working properly
4.) Car would not start sometimes. After repeated attempts at turning the ignition
on and off, it would start. When the BCM module finally failed completely, the
the car would not start at all
The way that we finally isolated all the problems to the Body Control Module, was to remove it from the car, and put it in the freezer over night. In the morning, we plugged it back in, and the car started right up, and there were no problems with anything. Within a couple of minutes, after the vehicle warmed up, all the dummy lights started going off, HVAC controls quit functioning, etc.
From what I could gather, putting the BCM in the car, after being frozen, took advantage of the fact that the circuit board would have good contacts at all the soldered connections. Apparently, after it warms up, any hairline cracks or other similar issues, would get bigger, and that is when everything would start going hay wire.
Again, do not skimp. Get this AC Delco module, and not a generic. Also, make sure you are not buying a refurbished unit.
