This backrest is the perfect complement to the Lock and Ride Cargo Box that fits the 2012 Polaris Sportsman 550. First I purchased an adjustable one that actually mounts to the lock and ride tray instead of the box itself. After trying it out, I came to the realization that it is too large for the intended use so I ordered another unit that bolts directly to the box itself. There is a dizzying array of available optional backrests to choose and I mistakenly ordered a unit for a different box before confirmation of the exact part number- my bad since the box was in a different location with no way to confirm the part number. As soon as I realized the wrong unit was on the way, I called Colorado Powersports and they tried to stop shipment- too late- it was on the truck and gone. They worked with me, arranged for return of the wrong unit and had the right one shipped quickly. The cushion mounts easily using the provided bolts and is perfect for providing a place to lean back against as designed.
