The latest generation of hub units has a suspension mounting flange machined onto the outer shell with integral raceways, and a brake/wheel mounting flange with integral raceways machined onto the inner cone, making it even simpler to install and providing a degree of precision previously unattainable. Again, these units are pre-lubricated with an integral lifetime seal. They require no adjustment, are maintenance free, self contained and preloaded. Many of these units contain an integral ABS sensor.

I've been a loyal Raybestos customer for years, mainly for their outstanding brake rotors and brake pads, and their solid reputation. I've never had any trouble with them.

Unfortunately, that's just not the case anymore. I bought a set of Raybestos Brake Pads and Rotors, and almost returned them after spotting the "Made In China" sticker. I just don't have time, or patience for inferior parts, especially brake parts, if you have to do the job twice. I ended up putting them on anyway, their OK.

A few 1000 miles later my Wheel Bearings were due. I saw the Raybestos Hub Assemblies (never knew they made Hub Assemblies) and decided to go with them because they were priced $20-$50 below their Moog and Timkin counterparts, and I had the Amazon customer service safety net.

I replaced the two worn out OEMs with the new Raybestos HAs and drove it down the road. After making my first left turn the traction control light came on, and while driving for another 4 days, I couldn't make a left turn at any speed without the traction control light coming on and subsequently losing power to the wheels as the driver train compensates for the "slipping" tire-to-road contact. I still don't know what the issue was, visually the part looked OK. I spoke to Amazon's OUTSTANDING Customer Service, and they promptly shipped a new part overnight. I replaced the defective part with the new one, and sent the faulty (Right Side) one back. 1000 miles later, no problems, but I just can't trust them anymore.

If I had to do it again, I would go with a Moog or Timkin Hub Assembly (so long as their still made in USA) stay away from any Chinese made suspension, brake or drive train components unless you're into doing re-work. Unfortunately the quality just isn't their (yet?). It's tough to do sometimes because they can be priced significantly lower than the better quality parts, and may have a (once) reputable name attached (Raybestos). I'm going to stay away from them from here on out, but still give them the (2.5) 3 Stars.
