First of all, I am a biker chick. I do have some mechanical skills but not excessive. I also installed these speaker all by myself - so an organized person that can read directions and do disassy and assy work could do them too.
Second, the sound really added the high pitch so you can hear better over loud pipes. It also helps that these are at face level now so the sound wave comes to your ears instead of your knees. :-)
Third the price was the best I found on the internet for everything I needed to install (except tools). There are also interchangeable speaker covers for cloth or a metal grill. I used the metal after I painted it hot pink - looks really cool on a black bike.
