If you are not sure yet if you need a dashcam, Google this "Why You Need A Dash Cam - Avoid Scams Such As The One In Video", watch the 2 minutes YouTube video and you decide if a dashcam is a sound investment or not.

If you are a beginner to dashcam, I highly recommend it, and of course this is recommended for current dashcam users as well. If you want to install a dash camera in your car you are better off starting with an affordable dashcam just like this one, rather than going for the $300+ cameras. LB100 is going to give you enough insight and feeling how is to own and use a dash camera before you are ready to make a purchase for a more expensive one. If you decide to do that, you can use Livue in a secondary car or install it to the rear of your car. Maybe, sounds paranoiac to you, but there are a lot of mischievous drivers out there that will try to place their fault on you in the event of an accident and for that you better off watch your back as well. Luckily, it didn't happen to me but it happen to a friend of mine, twice.

I was looking for a very reliable with very good video quality and most important a fairly discreet camera (I'll post some pictures with it installed on my windshield later on) that was in a low 100s. I wasn't interested for extra features like GPS or Wi-Fi, just quality image and reliability as summer days here in Atlanta are 90+ degrees F. Regarding GPS feature, I talked to a lawyer friend of mine who handles accident cases about having the speed stamped on the recorded video, and he has advised me that in some cases a smart lawyer could turn that against me. So, I wasn't interested to pay for something I wasn't going to use, but I wanted the GPS option to be open, in case I decide later on I want one.

So, after extensive research, I decided that Livue LB100 meets my requirements and after couple of months of using it I can say I'm very happy with the cam. I didn't get to buy this from Amazon as it wasn't available here for sale when I made my purchase. I bought it off eBay all way from Korea. I admit, I wasn't comfortable at all with that as I never buy from sellers outside US (personal policy), as is too much risk involved. The price was less on eBay, but for the difference I would've chose Amazon in a heartbeat, even though this cam is sold by a merchant, it's Fulfilled by Amazon. This gives you a piece of mind knowing the item is inspected by Amazon and is already waiting for you on their shelf, and also Prime shipping it's always a plus.

Let's mention couple Pro and Cons.

The good things:
- fairly reasonable price for a 720p/30FPS cam
- battery discharge protection built-in, (for other brands you need to pay extra as an add-on)
- very good quality for daylight recording, above average night recording
- no lag or missed time between video clips
- Android app. Stick the SD card in your Android and watch the recordings and change configuration. I use Winycam V300HD for English; the Livue-LB100 app is in Korean

The not-so-good things:
- night quality could get improvements, but this is a common issue with more expensive cameras as well so not much loss here
- sometimes the cam video player installed on my laptop gets slow reaction to my commands, they should fix that on the future updates
- slow start-up, about 20 secs
- as an import product is kind of bit of a challenge to get more instructions and information. For that instance I use winycam-engDOTcom and get the support for V300HD, which is basically same camera in a different package

This is a best buy for the features this camera offers. If there is anything that I encounter promise to come back with updates.

CARR 124031 Super Hoop XP3 Black Powder Coat Pair Review

I installed it by mounting to the frame rather than the rocker panel using self threading bolts I obtained elsewhere. I was worried about the sheet metal of the rocker panel being strong enough. The loop looks and functions well, but the mounting brackets seem wimpy for their purpose.
The back portion should be reinforced or maybe some creases added to increase rigidity. The only flex in the system once they are mounted is at the back of the mounting brackets.

ZEX 82006 Wire-In Nitrous Bottle Heater Review

I purchased this item a couple months ago and finally installed it once my set up was ready in the car. First off the correct instructions did not come in the box (came with purge solenoid instructions) so I had to reference the internet. Once it was installed I attempted to use is to heat my nitrous bottle, it would turn on for about 5 seconds then shut off for several minutes thus not working to heat the bottle at all. I checked all connections to verify there was nothing lose, it all checks out. My brother bought the same unit from another supplier; as we were set to race the same day he hooked his up for the first time to have the very same problem. To get it to work we had to cut the temperature control unit off and bypass the internal wiring, at that point it worked but he lost the automatic feature that this item was purchased for. I am attempting to return mine but I am beyond my deadline so looks like I may be forced to perform surgery on mine so it will at least work manually. Complete waste of money as you can buy the "dumb" heater for about $70 for the NOS brand. I am very disappointed in ZEX, this will likely push me away from any of their other products since I was taking a chance going outside my norm as it were. One bad unit I can understand, but 2 with same problem from different suppliers...no thanks.

Mounted, plugged it in and it worked. Period. I did have to Google search on where to plug it in... Turns out Nissan had the plug right behind the dash lower panel on the left side and was even marked 'for trailer brake control'. Easy deal that works perfect.
