Curt Manufacturing 13650 Class III Receiver Review

So far so good. This hitch came super fast and was much easier to install than the hitch for my old 2003 Toyota Tacoma. I bought this current hitch for a 2008 Escape Hybrid to hook up a hitch basket for cargo. Before installing, do a YOUTUBE search for an install video and it will all make sense and show you how to fish the bolts and spacers into the frame. I was able to install this by myself in my garage without a lift or jacking up the car. Remove the spare tire for more room and get a headlamp flashlight so you can work handsfree (oh, and a pair of safety glasses!). I used two Rubbermaid Action Packer 24 Gal storage containers on either side of me under the car to prop the hitch up, it held it up perfectly so I could match the holes and get the first bolts in! Remember to start with the holes closest to the front of the car first. The toughest part was trying to tighten the bolt located above the muffler. You are supposed to pop the muffler off the hangar, but I couldn't get mine off. I was able to tighten it with pliers instead of a socket. The only goofy thing was the wire they supply that you use to fish the bolts into the frame needed to be about 6" longer for the farthest bolt hole...It's very easy to push it too far and loose the end of the wire... Fits Great and looks good! Total install time, including removing and putting back the spare was a little over an hour (not bad for doing it by myself...)
