I get more than 15,000 miles out of these tires. Smooth and well-balanced with predictable grab in cornering. I have Pilot Road II's on a 1990 Honda VFR with 125,800 miles. They are by far the best. Since I don't track my bike, I feel the Pilot Road II is a better value than Pilot III. The only negative is that they are more susceptible to pressure differences due to temperature changes. I check them 2-3 times a month.
