The Alite Monarch is a product aimed at a niche market. It can't stand on its own, is more expensive than most other camp chair, and can't be used by people with bad knees, are over weight, or have a bad sense of balance. If none of that describes you, than you stand a chance to like this very well designed chair.

Pro:
It's light and pretty comfortable.
It's very fancy looking and people WILL be wowed by it if they haven't seen it before
It packs small, you can carry it everywhere.
When you get used to it, it's more like a lounger than a chair.
Its sturdy, you can treat it like a 2 legged rocking chair if you want.

Con:
It's more of a hike chair than a camp chair. Your legs makes up for the missing 2 chair legs, so you can never totally kick back and relax. This is great for a breather during a tough hike, but not so good when you want to sit by the camp fire and make s'mores.
Price. For 50 bucks you can probably buy 2 camp chair, though those chairs won't be nearly as light as the Monarch.

Overall, the Monarch is a niche market product. If space and weight doesn't matter (car camping), its too minimalist and unsteady compare to real camp loungers. However, when space and weight does matter (backpack camping), at 1lb and the size of a folded tent, its now too heavy and bulky for what it does. I'd rather just sit on a tarp.

What is it good for then? Well, glamping (glam camping), waiting in a long line outside of your local Bestbuy, out door concerts / movies, and short distance hiking trips are all legit uses for this. The Monarch is well designed, its just not very useful.
